For the past month, I have taught Nalah how to balance her time. If anyone knows Nalah when it comes to dance, she is an overachiever and a perfectionist; she sacrifices birthday parties and time with family just to be at her dance studio. She works day and night to be the best version of herself. She is her biggest critic. I am so proud to say that for this month, she decided to just be a kid and join her friends at their birthday party. On Friday, she came home sick from school, and she looked at me and said, "Mommy, I just need rest." I'm super proud of her. Recital is about 3.5 weeks away, and I cannot wait to see her pour her heart out on that stage.

Our children are a reflection of us. I had to teach her it's okay to shut everything off and just focus on yourself. I tell her dance is not going anywhere. I pay for dance classes for her to enjoy herself. I completely understand you want this as a career, just know you're a kid first.
