to say that DOTT (@dott_th) champions a very particular sound rooted in minimal and deep house would be selling it waaay short. his dj sets feel like a knowing smile, a pang of mischief, a temporary sense of moral gray draped in tons of personality by way of sticky, sometimes sinister basslines and grooves that make you lose your sense of time on the dancefloor 🤯

it’s a feeling further explored in his productions - where clear references to hip-hop, rnb, and thai pop are collided with rich textures that stand as testament to a love of music that feels deeply personal and carefully studied at the same time.

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT - @dott_th

DJ, producer and co-founder of the More Rice collective, DOTT is building a reputation far beyond his hometown of Bangkok. Well-respected on the SE Asia scene for over a decade, in recent years a relentless run of releases on both vinyl and digital labels in Europe and the US, as well as overseas touring, have introduced international audiences to his highly modern take on underground dance music.

With a DOTT production you’re never quite sure where you’ll end up. Tripping grooves and complex emotion take precedent over genre conventions: deep house may reveal a subtly dark edge, while a minimal cut can unfurl into the brightest of colours. Moods range from warm and analogue to futuristic sci-fi, but the attention given to basslines and groove remains a constant.

Behind the decks, DOTT stays true to his musical personality by foregrounding his own unreleased material alongside favourites by other producers. He has translated years of experience on the Bangkok circuit to the international stage, from clubs like Hoppetosse (Berlin), Bret (Amsterdam), Folklor (Lausanne), Tag (Chengdu), Savage (Hanoi), Modeci (Seoul) and his home ground Never Normal (Bangkok) to festivals including Houghton (UK), The Air House (South Korea), Wonderfruit (Thailand), Equation (Vietnam), Epizode (Vietnam) and the Montreux Jazz Festival (CH).
