Today I’d like to share another review, written and published by Robert Kozubal on JAZZDA.net. I’m truly grateful for it, because it’s rare for a critic to analyze the creative process so deeply — almost as if he magically stepped inside my mind. Robert truly managed to do that. He also beautifully explained the idea behind the 432Hz tuning, which is definitely not an easy subject to describe.

To wydarzenie jest skierowane do osób, które chcą głębiej wejść w temat time, feel, independence i własnego brzmienia w muzyce jazzowej. Nie będzie to warsztat oparty wyłącznie na technice w wąskim sensie. Punktem wyjścia będzie muzykalność, świadomość pulsu, kontrola napięcia rytmicznego i budowanie własnego języka na instrumencie. Podczas spotkania Dorota pokaże, jak rozwijać niezależność w praktyce muzycznej, jak świadomie pracować z pulsem i placementem oraz jak szukać własnego soundu i touchu. Warsztat będzie miał formę grupową, ale z elementami pracy praktycznej i analitycznej.

To wydarzenie jest skierowane do osób, które chcą głębiej wejść w temat time, feel, independence i własnego brzmienia w muzyce jazzowej. Nie będzie to warsztat oparty wyłącznie na technice w wąskim sensie. Punktem wyjścia będzie muzykalność, świadomość pulsu, kontrola napięcia rytmicznego i budowanie własnego języka na instrumencie. Podczas spotkania Dorota pokaże, jak rozwijać niezależność w praktyce muzycznej, jak świadomie pracować z pulsem i placementem oraz jak szukać własnego soundu i touchu. Warsztat będzie miał formę grupową, ale z elementami pracy praktycznej i analitycznej.

Warsztat jest otwarty dla osób od poziomu początkującego wzwyż, ale najwięcej skorzystają uczestnicy, którzy już grają i mają podstawowe obycie rytmiczne. Umiejętność czytania nut nie jest wymagana. Część materiału będzie prowadzona również słuchowo, przez śpiewanie, klaskanie i pracę na przykładach muzycznych.

Dla chętnych dostępna będzie również możliwość wykupienia indywidualnych lekcji / konsultacji 1:1 z Dorotą Piotrowską. To format dla osób, które chcą popracować bezpośrednio z Dorotą nad swoim time, feel, soundem albo konkretnym problemem muzycznym. Liczba miejsc na tę część jest bardzo ograniczona.

"The musicians of Sound Circle are artists with strong, well-established individual voices. Particularly noteworthy is their ability to build musical communication instantly, as well as their intense and focused interaction.
The very fact that Sound Circle is an international ensemble already draws attention. However, the key question is how music emerging from such diverse traditions is captured, developed, and framed within the context of contemporary jazz.
Despite the juxtaposition of different cultures, the overall result sounds remarkably natural and cohesive. While international lineups are not uncommon today, Sound Circle stands out for the scale and depth of its sound. For example, in the piece ‘Lothlorien,’ the voice of Cuban percussionist Bárbaro Crespo appears alongside the Nordic horn of Hildegunn Øiseth, creating an almost mystical, spacious atmosphere. The piece ‘Saba H2O,’ composed by Lebanese pianist Tarek Yamani, blends Arabic scales and rhythms with a jazz pulse.
In ‘Sparks,’ clear references to the history of American jazz can be heard. Although the album has a strong concept and structure, its greatest strength lies in the spontaneity and the vivid, improvised communication between the musicians.
