Despite the dedication of its teachers, this privately funded center has struggled since losing its main financial supporter in 2017. What was once a tuition-free program now requires students to pay fees.

In Togo, many families find it difficult to imagine alternative paths for children with disabilities. However, the Saint Augustin Center firmly believes that education is not only possible but essential in creating opportunities for all blind individuals, regardless of their financial situation.

To support the education of these brave students and assist the center in its mission, we want to mobilize our resources and contribute to this initiative.

Our support will help provide the center with learning materials, food, and regular salaries for its teachers—without placing additional financial burdens on families.

Together with the Vermeylenfonds, we are launching a fundraising campaign to secure the funds needed for specialized learning materials and educational tools that will empower these children to reach their full potential.

In his work themes such as decolonial practices, queerness, the body as a political instrument anthropomorphism and the translation of scientific theory into artistic practices. Zacquel also challenges institutional dogmatic structures and audience/consumer- performer relationships.

In her former years she has worked with trans sex workers doing peer counseling and more. When she is not inspiring those around her she is a self proclaimed couch potato and proud of it. When they say “What that mouth do?”, she answers with some quick shade. All in good love and laughs.
