#JordanFirstman’s directorial debut #ClubKid is the first breakout hit of #Cannes 2026, earning critical acclaim and a six-minute standing ovation in which Firstman rejoiced, kissed co-star Diego Calva and lifted up onscreen son Reggie Absolom to thunderous applause.

Firstman is largely known as a comedian and social personality who lives unapologetically — young, gay, ravenous for substances, sex and human connection. With “Club Kid,” he proved to the premiere audience that he’s got depth beyond a New York City dance dungeon.

After Babylon, @diegocalva worried his success could have been a flash in the pan, rather than something enduring.  However, the roll-call of legendary directors and stories he’s stepped into in the three years since would appear to decisively prove him wrong. Not least his January appearance as the achingly complex arms dealer Teddy dos Santos in electrifying espionage epic, The Night Manager.
