One of the absolute godfathers of the scene, and always a welcome guest in Berlin, is finally honouring us with his presence once again: @djgrooverider! Together with his long-time friend Fabio, he is regarded as one of the originators of our beloved D&B sound. As former residents at the Heaven nightclub in London, the two had their own night which was called Rage. There, they mainly mixed house and breakbeats, and to add the right spice to the mix, they also played hip-hop instrumentals at increased BPM. This inspired the producers of the time, such as Lenny De Ice, A Guy Called Gerald or 4 Hero to name a few, who then came up with the first tracks that, shortly afterwards, coined the term ‘jungle music’. Just a few years later, jungle evolved into drum and bass, and the rest is history.

On 27 June the Rider will be back at @clubgretchen for the next @metalheadzmusic session!

Add an adjoining cafe, plus a smoking lounge upstairs, Bi Nuu offers an engaging, close-up concert experience. From Hardcore Punk to Hip Hop, the club caters to a wildly open-minded clientele and scene-savvy audience. Besides a handful of mixed electronic nights, there has not been a proper Drum & Bass party there in over a decade.

He is a prolific producer with a massive discography including Metalheadz, Exit, Tempa, Commercial Suicide, Bingo Beats, 31, Function and his own AMAR imprint. He is the head teacher at Audio Science, mentoring fledging bass heads alongside Outrage, J:Kenzo and Gremlinz. AMIT is also an accomplished visual artist and clothing designer for Stain London.

Originally from the Bay Area, California - @hawtcocomusic is landing fresh from a UK tour to perform his forthcoming album live. He is also a teacher at Catalyst Berlin with multiple releases on Bassism Records. Architect of the Bolivian Bass movement, and decorated turntablist - @djquien from Bassism and Crisp will be setting the tone from the start. The evening will be hosted by MC @jamiewhiteberlin , from Recycle - the longest running and most established Drum & Bass event in Berlin. Providing our optical entertainment is SCHiQUE - @heynatsss hailing from Kyiv and now at home with deviate Berlin. She will bring her signature blend of dark, glitchy, real-time visuals to Bi Nuu. The club has been sonically treated by L-Acoustics, and sound proofed for high fidelity.

Introducing a talented newcomer out of Toronto - Ellyssa Marie, aka Creatura. A DJ, Producer, Promoter and Label boss with serious dedication to her craft.

She completed a Bachelor in Electronic Production atCatalyst and has so far released four soulful albums. Creatura continues to develop her unique sound signature by blending soulful melodies with haunting vocals to captivate and envelop the listener.

Influenced by the likes of Thom Yorke, Radiohead, and Lex Amor, she released her latest single this year, LAURA PALMER, collaborating with Berlin’s Darlina Shader. Alongside her productions, in 2025 she launched her own label - SECOND SOUL - featuring soulful artists from North America & Berlin.

Although her productions hold a more soulful and ambient sound, her mixes are a journey in deep melodic bass, soothing vocals, UKG, and slow-burning 140. Closing the Mushroom stage at Future Forest festival in Canada in 2024 was a highlight, and accelerated her growth as a bass music DJ. This led to her gaining bookings at Shambhala in BC and other electronic festivals in Canada. 

Creatura’s career continues to grow in depth while pushing creative boundaries, engaging the audience in her haunting tone. Catch her warming up box 2 from 12:00-01:00.
