Portal is the latest conceptual work from Oblivion State, arriving via machinaimprints June 2026
A cinematic descent through fractured realities, distorted memories, and alternate timelines.
The album follows the story of an ordinary man who unexpectedly crosses through a mysterious portal, awakening inside parallel versions of iconic film scenes.
As reality continuously shifts around him, he becomes both observer and participant, moving through scenes inspired by cult cinema, psychological thrillers, dystopian futures, and surreal dreamscapes.
Blending industrial textures, dark atmospheres, cinematic sound design, and emotionally charged synth work, Portal unfolds like a soundtrack to a film that never existed. Each track represents a new dimension, capturing the tension, chaos, wonder, and paranoia of a man losing his sense of what is real. Built entirely through hardware-driven production and live machine performance, the album reflects Oblivion State’s raw and immersive approach to storytelling through sound.

DESTINATION UNKNØWN is a Germany based techno artist and producer known for crafting deep, hypnotic and atmospheric soundscapes within the raw techno spectrum. Working primarily in the realms of deep and hypnotic techno, his productions are characterized by driving rhythms, modular textures, and immersive sonic environments.
He is the founder of Sunora Recordings and co-founder of Room 909, both of which serve as platforms for underground techno artists and releases. The label has become a hub for raw and hypnotic techno, showcasing a consistent output of music and audiovisual concepts tied to the underground scene.
As an artist, DESTINATION UNKNØWN has released multiple projects on Sunora Recordings among many other labels, including works like Obscure, Stratosphere, and Voyager, reflecting a signature style built around evolving loops, dark atmospheres, and analog-driven production techniques.
