I always say to my folks when I was a child, I was always a wanderer, an observer, a lone being exploring and gathering archives within her memories.

Now as an adult I create and gather archives in real time - stills and time based media is not just for entertainment - but for historical physical memories.

Where videos can be traced back and photos can be looked at - in the future - capturing love laughter tears dancing everything.

One day my clients have the opportunity to look back and say - wow I remember exactly what happened in that moment, or I forgot about this - regardless a moment in time is within their reach and that’s all that matters to me.

Peace ✌🏾- Des

This moment still feels unreal. My first solo show, Rituals of Seeing, opened in the city that raised me, held me, and shaped the way I look at the world. None of this would’ve been possible without my family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Worcester community pouring into me the way they always have.

Deep gratitude to my Consulting Exhibition Manager, Lynn Aurélie (@lynnterludee), whose care and clarity helped bring a show rooted in personal history, ancestral rhythm, and the quiet power of observation to life these past four months.

Thank you to Sam Cataldo of Worcester Art Museum and John Merrill of Harvard University for believing in this work and supporting my 2025 Worcester Arts Council Fellowship application. And much love to Joyful Way Restaurant and MOREarth for nourishing us, body and spirit, on opening night!

Rituals of Seeing is supported in part by a grant from the Worcester Arts Council, with additional support from the Mass Cultural Council.

Thank you, Worcester. This one was for us. On view through Nov. 22nd.
