Some memories never fade…
A beautiful summer afternoon surrounded by incredible musicians and dear friends: Inor Sotolongo, Blick Bassy, Stéphane Castry, Rémy Pinault… and David Fall, who sadly left us far too soon.

Nothing was really planned that day.
Just music, friendship, laughter and that magical energy that sometimes happens when everybody connects naturally.

Watching these images today feels deeply emotional.
Beyond the notes and rhythms, what remains is the human connection, the joy of playing together, and those precious moments we don’t realize are becoming memories forever.

David was an incredible musician, with amazing groove and such precise timing.
We miss him a lot.

Another rare moment from the Deep Forest archives.
“White Whisper” performed live in Tokyo in 1996 with the unforgettable Wes Madiko.
These concerts were special moments where electronic textures, African voices and live musicians merged into a unique atmosphere. Wes brought an incredible human energy and emotion to the stage, transforming every performance into something deeply alive.
This footage comes directly from the archives and has been restored.

I just restored a rare concert filmed in Kyoto, Japan, in 1998, where Deep Forest shared the stage with legendary composer Joe Hisaishi and his orchestra.

The Deep Forest story began in the early 90’s in the North of France with the intention of mixing ethnic music with their own electronic and jazz sounds. Their debut self-titled album included the smash single ‘Sweet Lullaby’, made them an instant worldwide name and, including their subsequent releases, they went on to sell 10 million albums.

Now, they return to N&D on Tuesday 20th October for an exploratory combination of jazz, electronic and world music.
