@djsonar_35 nous raconte en quoi la MJ du Thier-à-Liège a été importante dans sa carrière de DJ
Actif depuis la fin des années 80, SONAR est une figure majeure du Hip-Hop belge. Après avoir débuté en 1989, il rejoint dans les années 90 le groupe H-POSSE (Starflam), avant de devenir DJ et producteur du groupe Bienvenu-N-Sonar, avec lequel il sort l’album En Bas En Bas.
Entre 2002 et 2005, il collabore à l’international en tant que DJ du groupe cubain Orishas, puis poursuit sa carrière auprès d’artistes belges comme Pablo Andres, Akro, Nina Miscina, L’Hexaler ou encore Dynamic.
Créatif et entrepreneur, il fonde plusieurs concepts et structures qui marquent la scène : Urban Cod&S, WAL’Style (et le chapitre belge d’End of the Weak), La Barbe Mobile, La Maison Mère, Escalators ou encore RAW, une série vidéo retraçant l’histoire des pionniers du Hip-Hop belge.
Présent sur les ondes (Pure FM, Tarmac – RTBF), sur scène et dans les clubs, il multiplie les projets entre mix, production, radio, vidéo et événements culturels, tout en restant un acteur engagé du mouvement Hip-Hop en Belgique et à l’international.
