Some stories take time before they find their way into the world. This was one of them.
Last summer, deep in the forests of Bluemont, Virginia, we set out to make a film about something that feels increasingly rare: people who still make things with their hands.
In a world shaped by screens and technology, there is something profoundly grounding about watching someone shape something real from the earth.
Ceramic artist Talia lives a beautifully unconventional life rooted in creativity, family, and the rhythms of the natural world. When I first moved to Virginia, it was this kind of connection to nature and making that drew me here.
This film became a way of honoring that feeling. Slowing down. Making with intention. Finding meaning in the work we choose to do.
Thank you to @whitehearthpottery for welcoming us into your world, and to the creative friends who helped bring this piece to life.
