I’m David Orkin. I’m an immigrant workers’ rights attorney, UAW union organizer, and democratic socialist. Today, I’m announcing my campaign to represent the working people of New York State Assembly District 38 in Ridgewood, Glendale, Woodhaven, and Ozone Park.

I am the proud son of a Mexican immigrant mother whose Jewish grandparents migrated to Mexico to escape the persecution of the pogroms. I’ve lived and organized on both sides of the US-Mexico border — I know how much it matters to have a safe home and a community where you belong.

I refuse to stand by while ICE terrorizes our city, landlords evict our neighbors from their homes, and greedy corporations make the cost of living crisis even worse. We have such a unique opportunity now that Zohran is mayor; we can build the city we deserve if we act together!
