We’ll always have the lifestyle 🤩 for the second year in a row (and one of four guaranteed years that @datbevents will be running the @hermosabeachvbopen alongside @wedbushsecurities and @hermosabeachcity) the Hermosa Open will feature a truly open, 32 team field with a double elimination format, big prize money, and yes, the player parties at @tower12hb to salve some early losses or celebrate some big wins 😜

Took 12 seasons, but we did it today!
Still A LOT of work to do and goals to reach. But definitely a great feeling and start to the season.

When Hermosa Beach was left off of the AVP schedule this year, Mark Paaluhi, like many locals in the South Bay, was discouraged. But he didn’t just take to social media to air out his frustrations; he did something about it, working with the city to put on a $200,000 event that was streamed on VBTV.

Fifteen-thousand of those dollars came out of his own pocket.

How successful was the event? Paaluhi signed a three-year deal with Hermosa to continue putting on the event.

And he is the SANDCAST Man of the Year.

Honored to receive the endorsement of Mark Paaluhi, former professional beach volleyball player and the force behind creating beach volleyball courts and producing tournaments nationwide, including this year’s Hermosa Beach Open!

Mark has also generously volunteered his time to assist in new hire interviews for our police department. His dedication to both our community and the sport is inspiring.

Grateful for his support as we work together to keep Hermosa Beach thriving!
