Waking at sunset and crashing at sunrise, Darkle has a reputation as one of Chengdu’s wildest ravers and hottest talents. An early export from hallowed dance collective 33Studio in the mid-10s, his high-energy sound mixes Leftfield, Breaks and Trance with shots of Ghettotech and Electro, ensuring the only number higher than his step count is his BPM.
As a protagonist in award-winning feature film ‘The Last Year of Darkness’, Darkle runs the popular club night ‘Charlies Angel’s’ alongside fellow co-star Kimberly, which has drawn guests such Neri J and Fantwan deep into the underbelly of local Chengdu nightlife. Having performed across China, as well as Europe and the U.S, Darkle is a figure you can’t help but keep your eyes on.

Today, Ben and I are shooting a commercial in Chengdu and the memories of everything made me want to do a small anniversary post for this very special film, one of my proudest films I produced yet. So I went back to @letterboxd where we got over 5,000 ratings and until today people have been watching and rewatching and leaving reviews. Today I will have to pick the favorites because they beat the same heartbeat as us💓
