Why the name Dark Energy? 🤔 This is honestly a question we get asked all the time… and NO, it has nothing to do with the dark arts! 🤣

It’s a term used in Astrophysics to describe the constant, rapid expansion of the universe! We talk about this a ton in-house because our CEO/Engineer, Garrett made this our goal - to never let gear limit someone’s drive to expand.

This could be your day to day life, your weekend adventures, or your week-long excursions in the wilderness! Regardless of who you are or what you do, we want the gear in your pocket to help you get there. That’s why we create the most durable, rugged outdoor power solutions. And that’s why we are named Dark Energy.

I was invited to go on the fastest trip of a lifetime with @ksloutdoors , seeing Lake Powell by air, land and sea. It was an absolutely amazing experience.

We were picked up by a helicopter and flown over Lake Powell, seeing it from a view most people never get to see. My first helicopter ride did not disappoint. We circled Tower Butte and followed Lake Powell to our next destination, looking at cool points along the way, and landing in the middle of the desert. We jumped into some waiting UTVs for off-roading and desert racing. We drove about 20 miles and ended on the edge of a cliff overlooking Lake Powell. There we met up with 2 guides who took us to the edge of a thousand foot cliff and told us we were rappelling down. Lucky it was split into 3 sections but each section on its own was still the highest repel I’ve ever done (about 350’, 550’ and 200’). It was amazing with the best views. By this point, it was afternoon and almost 100* so we were pretty hot and sweaty. One of the guide’s angel of a step mom actually gave me her sun shirt so I wasn’t roasting on the cliff face and it saved me. Once we reached the bottom, it felt amazing to jump in the water and hang out on the boat that was waiting for us. We did a little fishing and swimming and then cruised the 20 miles back to the marina. This was all filmed for a local channel (KSL) so Utah people, you can see me all hot, red-faced and sweaty with amazing helmet hair in a few weeks. ✌🏼

Each and everyone one of the guides we went with was absolutely amazing and took such good care of us! I would recommend every one of these guides to anyone who wants to adventure in Lake Powell! Also grateful for my job that gives me these amazing opportunities
