I’m excited to be joining two of my favourite creative magicians, Jade van der Lei and @tannerofjosh + the wonderful Louise Gough from @screenaustralia + our moderator legend Zoe Angus from @screen_producer to dig into the world of low budget Australian features at Screen Forever next week.

This one’s close to the bone for each of us as we’re fresh off the back of productions - which means nothing but honest, real deal chats (because you need more sleep than is going around to pull off any other kinds).

We’ll be unpacking what it means to make films at a low budget level in Australia today across funding, creative processes, policy, the Producer Offset, and why these films are worth all the creative problem-solving required to conjure them into being. Sleep be damned. Rewards be joyful.

Bringing this season to life has been utter joy and deep learnings. Our incredible patients brought a generosity, curiosity, and self-compassion into every session that undid me and healed me up over and over again, watching @chantelle_otten_sexologist so entirely in her giftings was a damn privilege, and doing it alongside the wonders of @stephvanschilt and @bettyburnett made for the dreamiest of teams. This is sex therapy and human therapy and joy therapy and compassion therapy and above all, it is a necessary reminder: you are inherently valuable. You are more than enough. You are worthy of so much beauty.
