There’s a reason I’m pushing for more visibility of same-gender Ballroom dancing 💪

Unfortunately there are still people out there who do not agree with same-gender dancing, who don’t even think it should exist. And some can be quite vocal.

In the last week alone, I’ve seen several angry comments under videos of same-gender dance — some openly homophobic, others saying this isn’t “real” Ballroom dancing and that it doesn’t belong.

But in reality, the same-gender dance community is such a positive place; full of happiness, creativity, support, and lasting friendships. Even just being open to rotating roles and trying another side can massively improve your understanding of partner dance overall and help to develop new skills.

It’s hurtful to see negative comments, as it is a reminder that there are still places in the world where this is not deemed acceptable, and I would hate for anyone who was interestedto read these comments and be deterred from discovering the same joy that dance has given me.

This is why I won’t be giving up 💪 I’ll continue to share, to post, and to work with as many dancers I can in the hope of countering some of the negativity out there, and inspire more people to discover dance — no matter which role they want to dance or who they want to dance with.

Nella Giornata Internazionale della Danza voglio dire grazie a ciò che per me è stato molto più di un’arte: una guida, un cambiamento, una salvezza. Mi ha dato la possibilità di girare il mondo, di vivere esperienze uniche e di essere protagonista nei tour più importanti, facendomi crescere non solo come artista ma soprattutto come persona. La danza ha trasformato il mio modo di vedere, di pensare e di vivere, accompagnando il mio passato, dando senso al mio presente e ispirando il mio futuro. Che questa giornata ricordi a tutti, non solo a chi ne ha fatto una professione ma a chiunque ami la musica e trovi nel ballo uno spazio di libertà, quanto danzare faccia bene al corpo, liberi la mente e nutra l’anima. Buona Giornata Internazionale della Danza a tutti.❤️

On International Dance Day, I want to say thank you to what has been much more than an art form to me: a guide, a transformation, a salvation. It gave me the opportunity to travel the world, live unique experiences and take center stage in some of the most important tours, helping me grow not only as an artist but above all as a person. Dance has changed the way I see, think and live, shaping my past, giving meaning to my present and inspiring my future. May this day remind everyone, not only those who dance professionally but anyone who loves music and finds freedom in movement, how dancing benefits the body, frees the mind and nourishes the soul. 21.03.26: an unforgettable Saturday in Swansea!🔥👯‍♀️🕺🏻

Our Latin dance classes with @grazianodiprima brought an incredible turnout! The energy was absolutely electric from start to finish! Everyone showed up, gave it their all, and didn’t stop smiling once. Thank you! It’s safe to say… we all felt the workout too💪🏼 😅

Moments like these remind us just how powerful dance really is. It connects people, lifts spirits, and fills the room with pure joy in a way nothing else can. ❤️ My heart is bursting and I am so happy I was able to organise this experience for so many of you!

Graziano has truly made a lasting impact on all of us, and we’re so excited to share that @dancingwithgraz will be BACK later this year… and we already can’t wait! 🙌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
