Lighting can shape how a home feels, functions, and restores us.
In the latest feature from our How Lighting Defines Design series, interior designer Marie Cloud of @indigopruitt shares her thoughtful approach to lighting as wellness. From natural light and layered illumination to warmth, dimming, and emotional comfort, Marie explores how lighting can support the rhythms of everyday life.
Her perspective reminds us that lighting is not simply decorative. It is experiential, helping create spaces that feel balanced, intentional, and restorative.

For the 2026 Southeastern Designer Showhouse, Meredith McKenzie of The Selective Design created a primary suite layered with softness, artistry, and refined warmth.
In the primary bath, 12-foot ceilings, a marble mosaic arched shower, a freestanding tub, walnut floating vanities, custom calacatta marble, embroidered drapery, chinoiserie tole urns, and a hand-knotted rug come together to create a calm, personal retreat.
The adjoining closets continue the story with a boutique-like sense of detail. In Her Closet, a custom chaise, rattan grass cloth ceiling, tailored drapery, curated apparel, collected artwork, and white Broche chandelier bring a softer, more feminine layer to the suite.
Throughout the spaces, Crystorama lighting adds warmth, balance, and a sculptural finishing touch.

Bold contrast, glamorous details, and sculptural finishes. This modern luxe space is designed to feel both elevated and effortlessly inviting✨

A bedroom refresh that proves small changes can completely shift the way a space feels.
Our dear friend Ursula of @homemadebycarmona transformed her bedroom over time, layering in moulding, freshly painted ceilings, collected pieces, and a Crystorama crystal flush mount that brings the entire room to life. The fixture adds a beautiful sense of reflection and dimension, catching the light against the soft gray walls, tailored trim, vintage furnishings, and warm wood accents.
What we love most is how personal this room feels. It was not an overnight makeover, but a thoughtful, lived-in evolution designed to feel more peaceful, polished, and inspiring every day.

For the centerpiece of this recently-installed dining area in my Boulder renovation project, I selected the @crystorama Esme Chandelier with Smoke glass, so perfectly representative of the meeting of rustic elements and feminine details that defines this modern mountain house.
The dining room should never be bright but rather have a warm, inviting glow, and this fixture checks all the boxes. It’s sculptural, whimsical, and recalls the natural surroundings of the house.
Its the ultimate jewelry for a room – see the three other colorways from @crystorama

A home designed around food, family, and gathering.
We’re honored to see Crystorama lighting featured in House Beautiful’s tour of Jennifer Maune’s Little Rock home. A chef, restaurateur, MasterChef finalist, and mother of six, Jennifer discovered the European-inspired property on social media and was drawn to its sense of celebration, scale, and Old-World character.
Rather than starting with a full gut renovation, she took a thoughtful, phased approach, beginning with the kitchen and dining spaces her family uses most. In the kitchen, the original arched stone alcove, warm wood cabinetry, natural stone surfaces, brass finishes, and lighting come together to create a space that feels elevated, personal, and deeply livable.

Grateful to have supported this year’s Design on a Dime as the lighting sponsor through Crystorama.
Getting to support Antonio and his vision for Embrace made the experience even more meaningful. Since meeting at High Point Market, there was an instant creative connection—one that’s continued to grow through friendship, collaboration, and constantly pushing each other creatively.
What came together was a beautiful reflection of collaboration, creativity, and community—all in support of the incredible work being done by Housing Works.
Special thank you to Sarah Voigt for capturing the space so beautifully, and to Carlisle Wide Plank Floors, Sun Threads and Natuzzi Italia for helping bring his vision to life. ✨

There was something so meaningful about bringing Women of Design together inside the beautiful Crystorama showroom Monday morning at Market. Every time I walk through those doors and see their smiling faces, it feels like coming home, and I wanted Women of Design to experience that for themselves. As both a Crystorama Tastemaker and part of a community of women who truly support and lift one another up, it felt like such a natural connection because at the heart of both is the same belief: we are better together.

Lighting works best when it is planned before the fixture ever arrives.
In our newest How Lighting Defines Design guest blog, Elizabeth Scruggs shares how her background as both an interior designer and licensed general contractor shapes the way she approaches lighting from the earliest stages of a project. In this serene primary bath, proportion, placement, reflection, and finish all work together to create a space that feels soft, polished, and thoughtfully resolved.
The result is a bathroom where lighting supports the architecture, enhances the vanity design, and brings warmth to a crisp, layered palette.

Some lighting pieces don’t just brighten a room; they completely set the mood.
We absolutely fell in love with these fixtures from Crystorama for our Showcase spaces. The two-toned pink glass on the Addis chandelier in our Sunlit Hideaway room brings the softest, dreamiest glow, especially against the upholstered ceiling where the light dances so beautifully throughout the space.
And the Ollie chandelier? Just the sweetest little peek-a-boo moment from the entry. Playful, romantic, and full of personality.
These fixtures added exactly the feminine charm we were hoping for and helped bring our girly, layered vision to life in the most magical way, y’all. 🤍
