Cryroom has always been rooted in local artistry first, building with the people around us, while slowly opening pathways to regional connections that feel natural and genuine.
The Stopovers comes from that idea. Sometimes our friends and trusted selectors/selectresses bring through people passing by the city for a short stay. The kind of artists you would probably never cross paths with unless someone local opened the door.
This round, Yohan brings through two selectors from the land down under. Jim Paradise — co-founder of @hopkins.creek festival and label @waxnomads. Alongside longtime collaborator Billabong Girl. The pair have spent years sharing dancefloors, festivals, and decks together, building selections shaped by deep listening and independent culture.
A small chance for KL to experience a different corner of the world, while they experience ours in return.

TRuFio: A deep digger into the culture of Hip Hop, he comes from a strong background of Funk, Soul and Hip Hop. TRuFio’s love for gritty instrumentation and poetic vocals can be seen through his selections. A strong advocate of the low end theory, He will be bringing us on through Hip Hop’s rich and soulful cultural soundscapes. He brings a different blend of roots from Hip Hop into light where others would tread less.
William: His love for music can be seen through his dedication to the culture and the community for over a decade. Been playing battles throughout his career, however recently taking on a different stance. Like TRuFio, they both started out in the dance aspect of the culture, bridging the gap among movers, listeners and both.
A Groove Collection pushes to observe and share the connection that Hip Hop as a culture has, through what was already present. This time being the common connection of Soul/Funk and Hip Hop.

📍 Cryroom: COMMUNE
🎟️ RM 30
Cryroom has always been fascinated by the less visible side of DJ culture , not just mixing, but the act of collecting, selecting, and introducing people to something unexpected.
Undecided was built around that idea.
Rather than staying fixed within one sound, Kingston lets instinct and the room shape the direction. Sometimes dancefloor-driven, sometimes strange, sometimes slower than expected.
For this edition, he invites Mia - a DJ who has quietly contributed to KL’s underground for the past four years. While many know her through bass-heavy electronics, this session leans into another side of her collection.
Downtempo, ambient, leftfield electronics.
A reminder that music doesn’t always need to arrive at a peak to stay moving.
Held in Commune.

N.E.S.S - Nothing ever sounds the same

📅 15.05.2026 l 10PM till late[ FRI ]
📍 Cryroom: chaos
🎧 @afk_acid @nazarudofficial
🎟️ RM 30
Electronic music has travelled a strange path.
From illegal warehouses and hidden gatherings to radio charts and festival main stages. Its growth across the decades has been massive — both liberating and flattening at the same time. What was once feared and misunderstood is now widely accepted, though in many places, the danger and unpredictability that once defined it have slowly been polished away.
This night leans back toward the raw side of things.
Cryroom invites AFK and NZD — two artists shaped by techno, using hardware as both instrument and medium through N.E.S.S (Nothing Ever Sounds the Same). A format centred around hands-on performance, analogue processes, and the imperfections that come with them.
AFK approaches the floor through a more traditional hardware setup — linking sequencers, synthesisers, and machines into a living ecosystem. NZD takes a different route, building entire journeys from a single standalone machine, pushing limitation into process.

May moves across everything we care about .
Bring your own vinyl, drawing sessions, dancefloor energy, soundsystem roots, analogue live sets, and cross-city selections.
Commune for the softer, slower moments.
Chaos for the deeper, heavier ones.
From BYOG and Sketchy Things, to Soulscape and Ronggeng, to live hardware sets and visiting selectors. Each week shifts in sound, but stays grounded in intention.
We close the month with our own crew stepping into the booth. No roles, just music.
Come through.

RM10 — materials contribution
A night to put the phone down and pick something up.
Sketchy Things is our way of bringing doodling and simple craft back into the physical world. At a time when everything leans digital, we slow it down. Paper, pen, hand, instinct.
*Communal sheets to build on together.
**Side Quests to keep things playful.
At the end of the night, everything gets scanned and shared
— but first, it lives in real time.
P.S. Spare stationery welcome. We’ll use it for future sessions.

Sketchy Things: Doodle
RM10 — materials contribution
A night to put the phone down and pick something up.
Sketchy Things is our way of bringing doodling and simple craft back into the physical world. At a time when everything leans digital, we slow it down. Paper, pen, hand, instinct.
*Communal sheets to build on together.
**Side Quests to keep things playful.
At the end of the night, everything gets scanned and shared
— but first, it lives in real time.
P.S. Spare stationery welcome. We’ll use it for future sessions.

Digging has always been part of what we do.
Time in the bins, following instinct,
finding something that stays.
This Labour Day, Cryroom opens up.
Bring a few records. Share what you’ve found.
In between, our selectors move through their latest finds.
Free entry
Just one drink to support what we do.

由當初一層層搭起,
到而家短短一刻嘅聚集。
@chaos.cryroom
===================================
From gathering material
to becoming a space for gathering.
@chaos.cryroom
used to echo with construction noise,
now it carries sounds from local talents, and friends passing through.
There was a time rockwool, wood, and glue were our only instruments.
Self-taught, figuring it out as we went,
guided by a naive vision.
Now they sit quietly in the walls,
holding the sound inside.
You have to be in the room
to really hear it.
Still building.
Still exploring.
Stay tuned.
