Smashing Pumpkins had been a huge influence on Malaysia's scene since 93 - 94 but, quite a rare name covered or tributed by any local bands in my observation and opinion.
Perhaps around 95, The Great 18SGG (band) did a cover in local gigs.but i recall the great @melina__william and her band Tempered Mental covered 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' around 2001 at 'Blue Planet' Club and one band from Bb Noise familia did a tribute in an impromptu street gig / gathering during Hari Raya after MCO.
1st June, @proxa.mywill pay tribute to SP and deliver their sound based on SP songs that meant alot to them.
