The exhibition explores what shapes our identity today, what will remain after cultural globalization, and what can be considered as proof of our existence.

Dans le même temps, des traces de notre diversité persistent. Avec "Proof of Existence", nous cherchons à les saisir, en réfléchissant à ce qui façonne notre réalité présente, à ce qui se cache dans ses zones d’ombre, et à ce qui subsiste comme témoignage de notre existence — dans toutes nos différences et similitudes.

Les artistes présentés s’inspirent de leur expérience personnelle et de leurs observations. À l’intersection de la recherche et de la réflexion apparaissent des éléments nourris à la fois par la culture locale et mondiale, par des questions d’identité personnelle, ainsi que par des contextes historiques et politiques. Les participants représentent des peuples autochtones : Sakha, Oïrad-Kalmouk, Bouriates et Komis.

Artiste multidisciplinaire originaire de la République de Bouriatie, Surealia est un univers inspiré par la démonologie et le folklore, où l’imagerie ancestrale se mêle à l’expérience contemporaine. S’inspirant des traditions bouriates et chinoises, elle explore la manière dont le bouddhisme et le chamanisme façonnent le quotidien, le transformant en une réalité magique. Par ce processus, elle réinvente la mémoire culturelle, ravive les visions ancestrales du monde et donne forme aux mythologies contemporaines.

Multidisciplinary artist from the Republic of Buryatia. Her artistic realm, Surealia, is a world inspired by demonology and folklore, where ancestral imagery intertwines with contemporary experience. Drawing on Buryad–Chinese traditions, she explores how Buddhism and shamanism shape everyday life, transforming it into a magical reality. Through this process, she reimagines cultural memory, revives ancestral worldviews, and gives shape to contemporary mythologies.

Artiste interdisciplinaire originaire de la République de Sakha, vivant aujourd’hui en Europe. En repensant sa position en tant que représentante d’un groupe ethnique dans un discours «post-impérial», elle explore l’état actuel du paysage sociopolitique à travers le prisme de savoirs hybrides sakhas. Sveta crée des spéculations visuelles et textuelles qui croisent images fixes et images en mouvement.

Interdisciplinary artist from the Sakha Republic, now living in Europe. Rethinking herself as a representative of an ethnic group and living in Europe, she explores the current state of the socio- political landscape through the prism of hybrid Sakha knowledge. Sveta creates visual and textual speculations intersecting moving and stopped images.

Artiste basée à Berlin, née et élevée en République des Komis. Elle travaille la vidéo, la VR et la sculpture 3D pour explorer comment l’absence, l’invisibilité et l’obstruction peuvent devenir matière. En combinant méthodes documentaires et stratégies artistiques, KSTI HU crée des installations et films qui tracent les approches et échecs liés à des savoirs occultés. Sa pratique aborde l’invisibilité historique et actuelle des Komis arctiques, traduisant histoires orales et savoirs incarnés en formes tangibles, tout en affrontant la peur induite par l’État, les pratiques de silence et les traumatismes intergénérationnels.
Berlin-based artist, born and raised in Komi, working with video, VR, and 3D sculpture to explore how absence, invisibility, and obstruction can become material. Combining documentary methods with artistic strategies, KSTI HU creates installations and films tracing approaches and failures in relation to untold knowledge. This practice addresses the historical and present invisibility of the Arctic Komi, translating oral histories and embodied knowledge into tangible forms while confronting state-induced fear, silencing, and intergenerational trauma.

Berlin-based artist, born and raised in Komi, working with video, VR, and 3D sculpture to explore how absence, invisibility, and obstruction can become material. Combining documentary methods with artistic strategies, KSTI HU creates installations and films tracing approaches and failures in relation to untold knowledge. This practice addresses the historical and present invisibility of the Arctic Komi, translating oral histories and embodied knowledge into tangible forms while confronting state-induced fear, silencing, and intergenerational trauma.
