’Never meet your heroes’ is a phrase that doesn’t really apply here. We shot this nearly a year ago on one of the hottest days June had to offer.
It was incredible to see so much get done in a single day, but managing the data across two units (interview & editorial) meant I had little time to truly appreciate some of the creatives who shaped my childhood.

Really grateful to have worked with The Cornershop for Autistica; a nice bonus when a job is fulfilling as well as fun.

I’ve been enjoying using the Set Link Nanos by @oz_color.fr for the past couple of weeks. These camera control boxes have proved instrumental in improving how I work, allowing me to quickly flash the false colour or log whilst at my cart (without having to annoy the assistants) means I can easily check highlights or see how much we actually have to play with in the shadows, even if we have a custom LUT doing all sorts (which would typically make monitoring exposure pretty unreliable).

Looking forward to seeing other ways I can use this wireless ethernet magic tech.

Spending the weekend on this project with @youthbeyondborders was intense, but also incredibly rewarding.

Overseeing two units as DIT meant balancing technical precision with the fast pace of the shoot, making sure everything ran smoothly while capturing something that really matters.

It’s always a challenge, but that’s what makes it exciting. Collaboration at this level pushes everyone to bring their best.

Seeing the final piece come together, and knowing it’s part of a project that’s already raised £1.3 million to create real opportunities for marginalised young people, is a reminder of why this work matters.

A project for Royal Enfieldfrom last yearthat blended real-world elements with virtual production on an LED screen. As with most VP shoots, we had to hit the ground running—only to realise the ground was actually an LED wall and we needed to tweak it before anyone noticed.

Plenty of on-the-day problem-solving, but seeing it all come together in the end made it worth it.

Also a highlight to see @nicoleetsin reaching the heights she has—especially considering the last time we crossed paths, we were both trainees still figuring out in the industry what was up & what was down.

@uunnccaannyy for Nike Tech.

Justifying your presence sometimes on set is already quite tricky as a DIT, but with jobs that are 99% on 35mm. 16mm & miniDV, this becomes even harder.

Though, I partially bend the truth to say I was on this solely as a DIT, there was the odd atomos to ingest but frankly, I was dipping my toes as a Video Engineer on this project, putting digital signals into old RF CRT TVs (pre-RCA) and vice-versa.

However, the fundamentals of my role still applied; troubleshooting, patience & getting into weird pedantic conversations with people who live and breathe these old devices and technologies.

Justifying your presence sometimes on set is already quite tricky as a DIT, but with jobs that are 99% on 35mm. 16mm & miniDV, this becomes even harder.

Though, I partially bend the truth to say I was on this solely as a DIT, there was the odd atomos to ingest but frankly, I was dipping my toes as a Video Engineer on this project, putting digital signals into old RF CRT TVs (pre-RCA) and vice-versa.

However, the fundamentals of my role still applied; troubleshooting, patience & getting into weird pedantic conversations with people who live and breathe these old devices and technologies.
