When there’s a passion there’s a way. The process might not be the flashiest, the most exciting, and there may not be any cheat codes that can be allowed you to produce the piece with a simple snap of a finger.
But maybe that’s the whole point.
It takes time, it takes focus, it takes care.
And in the end, it’s all damn worth it😌✨

In this modern age of digital overconsumption & AI slop everywhere, I am happy to share with you what the human hand is capable of doing ✌️ I’ve locked myself in the cave to put in work, relentlessly trying hard not to turn into a madman but I truly cannot wait for you all to see it!
Excited would be an understatement for my first official gallery show & cannot think of a better place for it to be hosted.
See you all there,
Hok

It’s been a week since my retrospective at @concretearcade with such an incredible turnout. Almost 100 pieces in the most amazing space to show my work. The biggest thanks to @cascadapdx for the honor. Also to @cascada.danya @solterra_brian @dylan.does and my lovely girlfriend @carolina.pfister without whom none of this could happen. And thank you to the family and friends, and to thehundreds of new friends I made that night.

Far Horizons online catalog available now, the presentation of Keya Tama’s paintings within the exhibition, expanding the visual language beyond fiber and into form, surface, and gesture.
These works carry the same mythic weight as his textiles, but move differently. Simpler at first glance, they unfold slowly. Symbols emerge, dissolve, and reappear, holding space between abstraction and story. They feel quiet, intentional, and unresolved in the best way.
A limited selection of paintings is available through the end of next week.

Disposable Days, a retrospective by award-winning Los Angeles photographer and multimedia artist Andrew Kuykendall, opens December 4 at Concrete Arcade, CASCADA’s new gallery space in Portland’s Alberta Arts District.
Born in South Los Angeles, Kuykendall began shooting Polaroids in the late nineties. The irreverent intimacy of those early images evolved into a twenty-year career in fashion photography, creating campaigns for Hugo Boss, John Varvatos, Urban Outfitters, and Victoria’s Secret, with features in Vogue, W Magazine, and Elle.
Spanning film, Polaroid, and paint, Disposable Days traces the beautiful unraveling of the California dream, where desire meets decay, and nostalgia gives way to something raw and real.
Join us for the opening reception
December 4, 6–9 PM
Concrete Arcade at CASCADA
1150 NE Alberta St, Portland OR

Thanks!

The other night felt like more than an exhibition opening, it was a homecoming.
Concrete Arcade came alive with Far Horizons, featuring the transcendent works of Keya Tama and Joshua Martel, and a gathering that reminded us why Portland is unlike anywhere else.
Artists, dreamers, healers, musicians, chefs, neighbors, every corner of this city showed up. What we witnessed wasn’t just an art show, it was a living expression of community. So many guests told us, “This is one of the most beautiful gatherings I’ve been to in a long time.” We felt that too.
At CASCADA, art and connection are not side notes, they’re pillars of who we are. They fill us. They heal us. They expand our awareness and remind us that wellness is more than self-care, it’s the shared experience of beauty, belonging, and creative expression.
To everyone who came out, shared a smile, a laugh, a story, thank you. To the team who made it happen, from our partners and curators to Chuck Gul and the crew who held it all together, you are the heartbeat behind the magic.
The doors to Concrete Arcade are now open. Come see Far Horizons for yourself, plan a soak in the thermal springs, sip a ceremonial matcha at Alberta Street Coffee, and book your table at Terra Mae. Make a day of it, immerse yourself, connect, and find a little more of yourself in the process.
A space to reconnect.
A night to remember.
A city we’re proud to call home.
