Earlier this year I photographed the Bay Area Lesbian Archives in Oakland for Combos Press as part of a project for an upcoming book about the BALA and Brick Hut Café by Ashley Waltz

The Brick Hut was a lesbian owned community café in Berkeley, founded in 1975.
It was a safe space for activism, art, and all things queer. Will share more details on the book when it’s out!! ✨✨✨

introducing BURP 🫧🥒🫙🧫 a zine on fermentation + queerness!

Burp is a zine that explores the intersection of queerness and fermentation. Through essays and photography, Burp draws parallels between the slow, transformative processes of microbial life and queer identity - both thriving in resistance to control, both flourishing in community. This zine celebrates fermentation not only as a method of preservation, but as a metaphor for queer kinship: unruly, adaptive, and alive.

Burp is accompanied by a recipe card for Cherry Boshi by @of_the_air_

Contributors: @kassxmarina, Isa DeGuzman, @sabrina.beydoun, @of_the_air_
Editors: me and @soymilkmaid
