“We are dancers, all of us. Life moves us; life dances us... Like life, a dance creates and destroys itself in every moment. Like love, it is beyond reason.
It’s hard to imagine what a dance artist can do in a world that so badly needs radical change and healing.
And yet - art, like hope, is a form of love... It is a solvent for the calcifying mind and a balm to heal it.” - International Dance Day Message 2026 by Crystal Pite, award-winning Canadian choreographer and dancer
Excerpt from Pite’s Four Solitudes performed by Collage Dance Collective in fall 2025.
Happy International Dance Day! Read Pite’s full message at https://www.international-dance-day.org

From powerful performances to a room full of generosity and joy, this year’s gala was a celebration of what it truly means to invest in the next generation. Because of our community, we’ve raised enough to provide more than 50 scholarships and continue our commitment to making high-quality dance training accessible for all.
At a time when resources are shrinking, costs are rising, and support feels less certain, this generosity matters more than you know. It helps ensure this work and the young people at the center of it continue to thrive.
To get tickets for our upcoming Conservatory fundraiser, We Leave Things Green featuring Pulitzer Prize winner Jericho Brown, or to support our work, visit collagedance.org.
