Coco O. startede sin karriere i 2007 i musikkollektivet Boom Clap Bachelors, hvor hun mødte producer og sangskriver Robin Hannibal. Sammen dannede de bandet Quadron og udgav i 2009 debutalbummet Quadron på det amerikanske pladeselskab Plug Research.

Quadron turnerede efterfølgende i USA og flyttede i 2011 til Los Angeles efter at have skrevet kontrakt med Epic Records. I 2013 udgav de deres andet album Avalanche og turnerede både i USA og Europa.

I 2015 begyndte Coco O. sin solokarriere og har siden medvirket på udgivelser med bl.a. Tyler, The Creator og The Internet. Hun flyttede tilbage til København i 2017, og i 2018 udkom hendes første selvproducerede EP Dolceaqua.

I 2021 samplede Drake Coco O.’s vokal på nummeret Lemon Pepper Freestyle, og året efter samplede Lil Baby sangen Gwen på hittet California Breeze.

Coco O.’s debutalbum i eget navn, It’s a Process, udkom i 2021, efterfulgt af EP’en Sharing Is Caring i 2023 – begge co-produceret af Coco O. selv.
