SHLOMO out now everywhere

The unending grief of these past few years is hard to put into words, to process, or to even try to make sense of. Through it all, I’ve always leaned on music to transmute the frustration and anger. I’m blessed to have loved ones like @mohammedelkurd and my baba, Nabil who I can collaborate with, learn from, and be inspired by. The three of us released a track, Nasak, speaking to the betrayal and normalization of the Oslo Accords. Drawing from a settler character mentioned in Nasak, Mohammed wrote the lyrics and melody to this track, Shlomo, after the Abraham Accords. Along with production, I wrote instrumental sections, and my father’s singing completed the song. Shout out to all the community members who laid vocals down for the chorus, you know who you are ;).

This track is dedicated to all the settlers who left Brooklyn, Europe, Argentina, and everywhere else to steal our land.

Until we return victoriously to our homeland.

In this conversation we visit the dynamics of Arabic music as an improvisational universe, also looking at the tonality of Arabic scales.
