Day 1: Concepts and theory, lighting and composition, pre-production and helpful tools, handheld operating, shooting a scene
Day 2: Building a look, collaboration, Steadicam, commercial vs narrative considerations, shooting a scene, color grading

Sony FS700R w/ Cine Alta Gen 1 lenses.
As many know I love the Sony F65... so why shoot this on the Sony FS700R? This was meant to be a motion compliment to Brian's beautiful, stark black and white stills for the key art. So I decided on the following workflow: I shot the FS700R at 4K raw 60p in CinemaDNG sequences to give slow motion footage that I could then pull into Capture One. In Capture One I then pulled each shot in as a long sequence of raw photos and dialed in the look, making use of a lot of clarity (this is before DaVinci Resolve added their equivalent "midtone detail") and getting what felt like studio photography in motion. They were then exported as TIFF sequences and brought into DaVinci for final adjustments before outputting each take as a ProRes 4444 file. This workflow was a bit unconventional and time consuming but I loved the results and felt like the takes paired perfectly with the stills key art. Huge thanks to Brian for bringing me on for this one, I had a blast! 🙏
