When I’m not farming, I look like this: 🚴♂️
It’s time to Wake Up the Farm from its winter slumber! ☀️🌱
Join us this Sunday from 10 AM -1 PM for two hours of farm chores followed by Live Lyall Karaoke/Sing-Alongs! Volunteers will remove straw from beds, enjoy a fire pit and hot cocoa, and celebrate the beginning of a new growing season.
Registration is not required. Details at the link in bio. Urban Farm volunteering is now open every Sunday. We hope to see you there!
Our Harvest Festival will return on October 4 at Randall’s Island Park.🌾
#freepublicprograms #avengersdoomsday
What an incredible 2025 growing season for @ciarasi and their Urban Farm squad! The farm donated over 4,200 pounds of produce to underserved members of our community and Farmer C passed the 25K mark for their career for pounds donated.
We want to give a shout out to the entire farm team and we’re looking forward to all the farm has to offer park patrons, field trip classes, food pantries and more in 2026!

Truly, where does the time go.

We just keep growing. Slowly slowly. And sometimes quickly. Season by season. Shoutout to the team that makes it happen. There isn’t a thank you big enough for the exorbitant amount of love, laughter, time, energy, sweat, blood, & tears this team puts into this work. I dream of a season of proper lunch breaks for us all.
And a deep heartfelt final season shoutout to Farmer Grace. It’s been a privilege these last 4 years to work alongside such a brilliant farmer, thought partner, and friend. As Grace has said - “you only get so many seasons to grow the perfect tomato.” And this season just wasn’t it for that crop 😅.
But these last 4 seasons have seen a lot of “perfect tomatoes” — a farm overflowing with life, community and care, and an abundance of signage, seedlings and food to share 💚💚

The RIPA Urban Farm is proud to serve as a resource to local community gardens by distributing free, high-quality, culturally relevant vegetable seedlings! In partnership with Green Guerrillas, and supported by funding from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, RIPA’s Urban Farm is distributing 1,884 seedlings to community gardeners in the South Bronx this weekend! 🍓🥬🌶 Can't wait to see all of these crops in the ground soon!

Exciting news on the Urban Farm this month! After years of great activity, our three-bin compost system was ready for an upgrade. With materials and labor generously provided by @bigreuse, we poured a concrete pad and replaced the wood bins with five stainless steel bins.
With these new bins, we'll be able to compost more organic material (year-round!), and for many years to come!
Come check out our new compost station, and feel free to lend a hand processing food scraps during volunteer hours, each Sunday from 10am - 1pm!
