Enter the world of

MATES: a play by four mates about four mates trying to put on a play about four mates.

Mates is a fast-paced, meta-theatrical exploration of friendship, ambition and creative chaos.

It follows four old friends who reunite to make a play together after years apart. The venue is booked. They’ve got the props. They even have huge financial backing. All they need now is… well, the play. What begins as an exciting creative reunion quickly spirals into plays-within-plays-within-plays, exposing old tensions, bruised egos and uncomfortable truths.

Joint us from the 29th - 31st January for this short run at @thehenandchickenstheatre in Islington to experience this meta car crash!

It’s that magical time of year yet again, and this year Santa’s had a few too many, leaving Mrs. Claus (as usual) to save the day. I’ll be all the way in Japan this year, spending my first Christmas away, so everyone back home — please have some Bucks Fizz for me and tell Alexa to play this song on repeat 🌲☃️
A huge thank you to everyone who made this video possible: our friends and family for bringing the Christmas spirit to my parents’ house on a cold February morning, and our wonderful DOP Oliver Bury, Gaffer Gabriel Kerbs, and 1st AC Evan Davies for helping us capture the joy and mayhem of the most wonderful time of the year.
