It was an absolute pleasure to get the opportunity to gaffer the black and white section of Michelle Williams Gamaker's Film about Merle Oberon "Strange Evidence" over a week in June last year. Working with the Excellent DOP Tom Wright, we used purely tungsten lighting, mostly fresnels diffused and then flagged and cut to fulfill the brief to fully recreate the lighting used in Merle Oberons films of the 1930s and 1940s. Tom and myself also used a Tungsten Fresnel to recreate the famous Obie Light created By Lucian Ballard to accentuate Merle Oberon's eyes and face. The whole crew were lovely, and It was truly brilliant to get a chance to work with Michelle again on this Important piece of work. Strange Evidence is now showing in the MAC Art Centre in Belfast, and will be returning to London later this year.

Some of the best days I had last year was when I got the absolute honour to gaffer the Tarot reading sections for Ru Paul's Drag Race UK. The Queens were so hilarious and witty, I had to constantly muffle my giggling throughout the whole of the shoot. It was an absolute pleasure to meet all the Queens. And it was excellent to get to work with BBC Three again, and Sam and Rachael and the team.

I was hugely lucky to get the opportunity to gaffer these commercials for Bella and Duke Organic Petfood with Space City Productions and Dop Jakob Cizic. We created 6 commercials over one week. Each setup being set in the imagined daydream of the animal talent. This allowed for a huge amount of creativity and imaginative lighting on set. Jakob and myself used many different lighting Setups utilising mirrors, tubes, overhead softboxes, 720bs, 150cm Lightdomes, and various small fixtures.
I especially loved working with this Afghan hound, who looked absolutely stunning in the lighting. Space City were amazing to work with, looking after us all expertly, and keeping everything running like clockwork. I was supported throughout by the excellent Lighting Technician Milo Sharpe.

I was lucky enough to get the fantastic opportunity to get to Gaffer this lovely Snowglobe film for Ffern Eau De Parfums winter campaign. Working again with the Brilliant Sam Finney and Angus Dunsire.
Sam and I decided to use all Tungsten heads in the end due to the organic dimming curve they inherently have. We used a mixture of 1k's, 2k's, and Source 4's. These were all fed back into dmx dimmer racks and dynamically controlled during the shot, via a Chamsys DMX desk. It was excellent to get the opportunity to light for 16mm Film, and I love the organic feel of the final film. Emily and Franci and the team at Ffern took fantastic care of us all as always. Also having the snow generator on set was a little touch of magic before Christmas.

I really enjoyed taking pictures of this necklace from N2 By Les Néréides, as modelled by this absolutely delicious Cinnamon Bun from Harveys Bakehouse Putney. I really enjoyed shaping the lighting on this one. Editing it in photoshop did make me hungry though.
