C3 2025 (long rambling ahead)
it’s been a week and had some time to process this…
idk what kind of insanity keeps me coming back to do this year after year, but they also say that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. and as @poca_pocaxie ingrained in her chewren, taking a shot and putting ourselves up/out there is better than having done nothing at all.
so I guess this is my insanity.
still very much a big WIP and this styling is still very new, foreign and uncomfortable to me. was immensely stressful and scary to completely scrape my audition piece and rebuild from scratch, but when I heard this song, sth just clicked and I took a huge leap of faith on it. trusted my body with this and ngl, surprised myself with it and it was v heartening to hear the comments on my humble take on this song and piece.
big shoutout to my bro @windburner_ , most definitely would’ve never dreamed of putting up this kinda piece and could have never reached the finish line without the support. for keeping me tgt and bringing me back when i was this close 👌 to giving up entirely. 👊 aiya u know the rest la bro HAHAHA
was quite lowkey on the fact I joined c3, but very grateful and touched by the love and support that day. yall know who yall are, thank you 🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️

here goes…
spent close to 2mths on this, going through iteration after iteration. from song choice, to conceptualisation, creating, all the hours spent at scape, the countless revisions…it’s far from being perfect but I guess this would be a pretty good representation of who I am at this current point (Jun 2025). the whole process was definitely not easy, esp juggling it tgt with recital happening concurrently, but it was definitely a great learning experience and one for the books.

Dare I say, easily one of the best decisions made in 2025 thus far. From coming together (semi-awkwardly) in Feb, being wrecked and scolded by Poca every Tues and Sun, (very) slowly getting stronger physically and mentally as the weeks went by, to emerging as a strong unit/crew of our own, I’m so incredibly proud of all of us and this whole journey. (eh trauma bonding?? 🤣)
Ngl, so many times in this relatively short journey I felt so lost, being asked about and having conversations about so many things I didn’t think about previously regarding dance. Super grateful to have been mentored by @poca_pocaxie , didn’t realise how many years I’ve been following and learning under you (8 😱) until this program came along. Thank you for bearing with me (and all of us chaotic children) and for your endless patience (and scoldings 😅) to guide all of us along in our journeys and making us take charge of it, as well as pushing our foundations. Honestly wouldn’t have had it any other way. (2nd pic be an accurate representation of how Poca scolds all of us)
((also yes pls overlook and ignore my slightly questionable outfit/costume choices))
And to the other 7 of yall DIVErs, our bodies can finally rest (do we really tho lol) after being in constant pain since Feb HAHAHAHAHAH but fr, Tues and Suns feels so empty without all the chaotic energy 🥹 but so so glad to have done this with every single one of you, and glad that all of us love dance enough to have our paths cross through this mentorship. Can’t wait to dance with yall again hehe

Dare I say, easily one of the best decisions made in 2025 thus far. From coming together (semi-awkwardly) in Feb, being wrecked and scolded by Poca every Tues and Sun, (very) slowly getting stronger physically and mentally as the weeks went by, to emerging as a strong unit/crew of our own, I’m so incredibly proud of all of us and this whole journey. Super grateful to have been mentored by @poca_pocaxie , didn’t realise how many years I’ve been following and learning under you (8 😱) until this program came along. getting this out there before the recital madness takes over; not sure what got into me to want to do this - 10th year pursuing dance, CV’s 5th recital, 8 years since the one that started it all - but just wanted to relearn the very first cv recital audition choreo for fun and see if anything’s changed after (almost exactly) 8 years.

also random shoutout to @yiwenyong for accepting me all those years ago…coz based on that 2017 audition clip, oh.my.god I wouldn’t have taken myself into the item 🥲 HAHAHA. (fun fact: that was the clip I submitted for vid auds coz man was overseas on summer school when live auditions took place)
none of the opportunities, growth, and people I’ve crossed paths with over the past 8 years would’ve happened if I wasn’t accepted into your item back then, and I rly think that one decision changed the path of my whole dance journey hehe 😛🫶. thank you for taking that chance on me 💙
