“Bull”

The first work of art I ever received was a wooden sculpture of a bull, gifted to me and created by our family friend and relative Mile Mudrovčić. A very talented amateur sculptor from Lika with an extensive opuse of wooden sculptures inspired by biblical and animalistic motifs.
Twenty years later, I decided to paint the same motif and give it to him as a token of gratitude for the inspiration he gave me in my younger days.

Pozivamo vas na otvorenje izložbe Monike Eliette Jandl i Luke Tomića „Moving particles” koje će se održati u utorak, 15. srpnja u 19h u Galeriji Karas (Ulica kralja Zvonimira 58).

Iz pregovora Josipa Zankija izdvajamo:
“Godine 2024. pokrenuta je suradnja između austrijskog umjetničkog kolektiva, Grupe 77 i Hrvatskog društva likovnih umjetnika. Suradnja se realizira u formatu Double Acta – zajedničkih izložbi jednog hrvatskog i jednog austrijskog umjetnika/umjetnice u Galeriji PLÜ23 u Grazu i potom u drugoj godini razmjene u Galeriji Karas u Zagrebu. Luise Kloos, članica Grupe 77, i Josip Zanki, dopredsjednik HDLU-a, odabrali su prvo dvoje umjetnika/umjetnica u ovom projektu, Moniku Eliette Jandl i Luku Tomića. Njihov je rad predstavljen na jesen prošle godine u galeriji PLÜ23 u Grazu, unutar izložbe Moving Practicels, a sada nastavljaju suradnju u istoimenoj izložbi, u Galeriji Karas u Zagrebu. (…)
Radovi Jandel i Tomića komuniciraju kroz suprotnosti: dok Jandel stvara izmišljene krhotine, dijelove mogućih ruševina, Tomić intervenira na stvarnoj ruševini koristeći krhotine, ali isto tako i izlažući krhotine u galeriji; dok Jandel izbjegava značenja i polazi od negiranja slike – ikonoklazma, Tomić sve gradi na značenjima i narativnosti slika; dok Jandel koristi bjelinu zida izlažući reducirane formate, Tomić koristi pod i istu tu bjelinu zida prekida ekranom. U najčudesnijem dijelu poetike ovih dvaju toliko različitih radova, umjetnik i umjetnica dotiču se vremenitosti ruševina i ljepote krhotina. Nakon praznine, ratova, uništenja, neshvaćanja i prolaznosti, jedino što nam ostaje jesu ostaci koji bilježe vrijeme, amorfne i vremenite krhotine, očišćene ali i ispunjene značenjima.”

Izložba je otvorena u periodu od 15. do 28.7.2025.
