I presented ‘Glove Stain’ as a solo exhibition at a vacant stationary shop called Bureau Moderne in Digne-les-Bains, Provence, France as part of the Lignes des Désirs initiative curated by @cherechair @puntagallery and @cairncentredart CAIRN Institute d’Art and later presented in Sofia at @cable_depot . The work explored the scent of the rose as a conceptual thread linking Provence and Bulgaria; working with collaborators including Matt Robin @mattemattik , @shirleytang__ @oriens000 Shirley Tang and Bulgarian Rose Inc
I developed two durational scent sculptures and a video performance centered on the history of perfumery making and the Rosa Damascena oil from Bulgaria’s Rose Valley who’s the number one producer in the world (the vital and most potent base for any expensive perfume), treating the rose as both material and metaphor shaped by identity, economy and care; through industrial-inspired distillation metal sculptures containing scented oil, water, and fat, alongside hand-blown glass vessels and the slow enfleurage process, I traced how fragrance is extracted, preserved and transformed, while untreated lambskin gloves acted as references of the history of perfumery in Grasse which started off as a byproduct of the leather industry: from Renaissance perfumed gloves worn by figures like Marie Antoinette to their role as scented barriers against the body and environment; the staining of the gloves with rose oil became a painterly evidence of labour and value, explored through a video performance where repeated handshakes accumulated visible patina and traces of contact, positioning the glove as a vessel of scent, skin and memory, and ultimately, using the process of distillation, touch, residue and air to reflect on the fragility of scent and the unseen histories embedded within materials and gestures.

The exhibition deals with earth’s surface, but also its depths—from organic matter transformed into fossil fuels or innovative fabrics; through the plant world and the female body whose symbols weave through thousands of years of human history, to dystopian models of social interaction. And so, thoughbuilt on the remains of the past world, it contains the secret element from Pandora's box: hope.
Bringing together technology and earth, the human body and social relations, the exhibition opens up a space for reflection, connecting artists from different countries and contexts. And yet, questions about resources, their exploitation, and their relationship to our contemporary existence feel increasingly urgent. They connect the daily lives and imaginations of artists in Marseille, Sofia, Berlin; the shores of the Mediterranean and the stalls of the Women's Market.

Opening 12.03.2026, Thursday, at 6 pm.
After a phantasmagorical journey from the ocean depths to the surface of the earth, from the mythical fish-woman to a contemporary emancipated figure
during the show presented at Buna festival, Varna @buna.varna «Odyssea – The Song of the Sirens» – a nebulous, post-capitalist world now emerges, inhabited by creatures seeking change. «The Salt of the Earth» thus proposes exploring a different space-time, one that is hard to place in a linear history and resembles a narrative of anticipation. Salt, known for its corrosive and purifying properties, materializes
here as piles of charred debris within which the artists’ works unfold.

We are more than excited to announce that the Open Call for BUNA vol.4: Native Resolution (Innate ИНАТ) is now OPEN!
The 4th edition of the Forum of contemporary art BUNA will take place 2-5th of October in Varna. We are thrilled to open the largest festival for contemporary art in Bulgaria to a variety of visual narratives and meaningful, contemporary encounters, while still pushing the boundaries of norms and forms. We are happy to see both familiar faces and new additions to the BUNA family!
The curatorial topic of BUNA 4 was developed by the Bulgarian contemporary artist, curator and art historian Luchezar Boyadjiev ( @luchezar_boyadjiev ). Together, this year we are exploring the resilience of the human psyche and its ability to recover after times of suppression and trauma.
The curatorial team of BUNA vol. 4 is also joined by Boyana Dzhikova ( @cherechair )— curator and gallerist, and co-founder of POSTA SPACE and PUNTA Gallery in Sofia.
The curatorial team is responsible for selecting participants from the Open Call, as well as for nominating artists for the Balkan Contemporary Art Prize ( @the_singer_zahariev_foundation ).
