Over the last few months we’ve been working with Nava Mau to curate a special evening for emerging queer and trans filmmakers in LA and on September 8, we hosted the first ever Level Ground Film Salon!

Designed to defy categorization, the night was about crossing genre and gender to consider what is right, just, and required in this political moment. We fostered authentic community, ate a delicious dinner from @choas__kitchen, screened three amazing short films, and had a deep discussion moderated by the fabulous @thesonia.

Directed by @chasejoynt, the genre-bending documentary reckons with the role media and medicine play in the making and shaping of trans life. 

The film won two awards at its @sundance festival premiere in 2022, and went on to win the @glaad Media Award for Best Documentary.

We loved every second of screening NO ORDINARY MAN at the Paradise Theater in Toronto as a part of the Queer Cinema Club. So many shared laughs and reminders that we are all we need when together.
