Installation views of our second showing moment (22/03) at Het Paviljoen for the exhibition Jumping Fences
Following on from their previous installation, HUT 1965-2024 (cabin), Céleste Buyle and Quinten Vermeulen activate the space of Het Paviljoen with a whistle concert. Several kettles left the kitchens to become music instruments, inviting the viewer to witness an ongoing score orchestrated by the artists. Scattered into the exhibition space, FLUITKETEL CONCERT resonates like a sonic memory of a daily ritual.

"hut 1965-2024"
Céleste Buyle and Quinten Vermeulen transform Vleeshal into a fragmented archive that captures the ideas and feelings of a recently demolished cabin. "hut 1965-2024" is an attempt to eternalise the aura of this intimate space carrying memories of the artists. By taking all its belongings out of their original context, Céleste and Quinten propose another trope of what once used to be. Within the exhibition space, a bench, a plate or a table become the symbols of a lost memory and the characters of a new story.
3 tables, small kettle, big kettle, 4 glass mugs, 2 chairs, 2 blue bow saws, handsaw, 3 coffee filter cones, 28 knifes, bleu cutting knife, 22 forks, 8 small forks, 104 spoons, yellow spoon, blue spoon, 17 small spoon, can opener, butter knife, potato peeler, big cooking pot, enamel cooking pot, small cooking pot, red corner bench, 27 big plates, 17 small plates, rake, clothing hanger, 2 coat racks, pasta spoon, screw driver, 162 nails
build in 1965, demolished in 2024
