Happy New Year Everyone 🎊 When this time comes, I reminisce of what I was up to exactly a year ago. Was in Penang, Malaysia for @picafpenang painting this mural on the containers, tackling my biggest yet; assisted by @a.aleff hubby @jaylowch , so tired that slept through the countdown. Meeting amazing inspiring artists and people involved. Always appreciative of the opportunity @tanchorwhye 🙏🏻Miss the travels and mingles. Don’t know when we will be able to travel safely back home anytime soon. Till then, there’s still a lot to be thankful for and continue to hope for everyone’s safety and well-being 🏡 #picafpenang #carynkoh #streetart

Introducing the completed murals in Fleet Street, Swindon — to brighten and revitalise this space which is layered with history.
No. 20 Fleet Street, built in 1897, has transitioned from a political club to offices and a series of nightlife venues. The proposed name “Buddleia Building” draws on this layered history, with nature reclaiming the space during itsvacancy.
Caryn’s @carynbearkoh work is inspired by the resilient buddleia plant. The mural symbolises regeneration and urban renewal through the purple woodlands with the glowing sun, alongside geometric pixel elements that reference neighbouring artwork, creating a calm, painterly piece that shows heritage and nature.
Managed by @countonher @artsite.ltd @swindonpaintfest Supported by @swindonculturecollective @swindonboroughcouncil
Thank you to @brewerspaints for supplying the paints.

April’s edition of ‘The Female Perspective’ - where we sit down & talk with our female street artist of the month, beautifully documented by @hannah_judah - is @carynbearkoh 🩵🩵🩵
❓Your work revolves around your own experiences and people that are personal to you - do you ever find this challenging sharing such personal aspects of your life on a public wall?
🗣️It can feel quite vulnerable at times. It feels like I’m really putting it out there for anyone to view. But I’ve learned to appreciate it when people often come up & share their own stories or interpretations. That sense of shared experience across different walks of life is really inspiring to me.
❓Out of the 4 murals we feature here, 2 feature a red string - what’s the purpose of this?
🗣️The red string is inspired by the idea of the “red thread of fate,” but I also connect it to my own personal experiences. For me, it represents those invisible connections in people & in all types of relationships be it familial love or romantic.
❓When you paint loved ones, like you have here, what’s your reference point?
🗣️I usually work from photographs. I sometimes mix references together, edit them the way I would like it to appear on the wall. It’s more about capturing a feeling of that person rather than a perfect likeness.
❓Being a female-founded platform we care very deeply about promoting other female creatives - you’re a part of the @womcollective based in London? Tell us more!
🗣️WOM Collective is such a supportive group of female street artists. It’s all about creating opportunities & building a sense of community, which is so important especially in a field that can feel quite isolating.
❓Out of the works here, is there 1 that feels especially personal to you
🗣️The piece with the red thread & the two sisters facing in opposite directions. It was created during a time when I was far from home, thinking about the distance from the people I love—especially my own sister. The thread became a symbol of the bond we still share, a reminder that connection endures even when we are physically apart.
