Il a couvert des conflits marquants : révolution ukrainienne de 2014, guerre du Donbass, crash du MH17, guerre en Syrie, bataille de Mossoul, invasion russe de 2022. Son travail sur le siège de Marioupol lui a valu un prix Pulitzer. Son documentaire "20 Days in Mariupol" a remporté l’Oscar et le BAFTA du meilleur documentaire en 2024. Président de l’UAPP et membre du PEN ukrainien, il a été blessé à plusieurs reprises en reportage. Son dernier film, "At 2,000 Meters to Andriivka", plonge au cœur du front ukrainien et de la guerre moderne.
