This Mother’s Day, we’re honoring the kind of love that becomes legacy 💐
Our Mother, Mary Theus built a life rooted in resilience, compassion, and community. After moving to Detroit in the 1960s, she became a steady presence in East Canfield Village, someone people could turn to for wisdom, comfort, and care. Her warmth reached far beyond her own family, shaping the neighborhood and the people around her in lasting ways.
The way she showed up for others still inspires us today. In the way we gather, support one another, and continue to build community.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and figures whose love continues to shape generations 🤎

Canfield Consortium is partnering with Creating Habitats for Pollinators to strengthen and enhance three of our community greenspaces:
✨ The Canfield Connect ✨ The French Road & Warren Greenspace ✨ The Canfield–Lemay Flower Garden
On May 4, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, volunteers, partners, and neighbors will come together to prepare each for a vibrant spring and summer season.
Volunteer Work Session | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Help with site cleanup, site prep, and flower seed planting. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Refreshments and tools will be provided
