Frederick is receiving nearly $7 million in federal funding for four community projects secured through the FY26 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill by U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks. The funding was announced as part of nearly $70 million in federal investments for 46 projects across Maryland.
The funded projects include:
🔹 $3 million for the Frederick Youth Center
🔹 $2.478 million for the Downtown Frederick Streetscape Project
🔹 $1 million for the Taney Avenue Senior Center redevelopment and affordable senior housing
🔹 $500,000 for renovations to the Maryland Deaf Community Center
These investments will help enhance youth programming, improve downtown infrastructure, expand accessibility, and strengthen community resources throughout Frederick. Congratulations to the City of Frederick, local partners, and everyone who helped champion these projects.
