Growing up an Army brat, Memorial Day was more than a holiday or the start of summer—it was recognizing those who sacrificed for this imperfect country, and appreciating the families they left behind. As a child, I always wished for a time when this day wouldn’t be needed—in my mind, without wars there would be no need for Memorial Day. I still wish for that.

However until that day comes, I will humbly be grateful for their sacrifices which made the simple moments like — family dinners, laughter with friends, even being able to say not-so-kind words about the POTUS and his sycophants…possible.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day weekend as we remember, honor, and never forget someone’s parent, child or love.❤️❤️❤️❤️
