for the past year, this film has travelled around the world. we’ve been able to connect with so many wonderful people in our community. people have shared their love & their tears. people have shared their stories about their own grandparents, parents or grief. it’s been such a privilege to go to each city and meet each and every one of you that have come to our screenings.

is a district in punjab. founded by settlers migrating from nearby towns and pre-partition punjab.
our goal was to capture the essence, the style, and the coolness that our parents and elders would carry in their day-to-day. ways in which they adapted to their new homes. we wanted to catch them in their element and in their potential. i grew up with my family, many of them who are blue-collared workers, expressing themselves through streetwear brands. a lot of my style inspo is derived from their wardrobe, stealing pieces from their closets and hoping to ooze the same effortless drip that they possess. 😅
each person featured is a member of our family, who have at one point called nawanshahr home. each with countless stories to share.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵–𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱
One year ago in Sayulita, surrounded by the people we love most, a weekend began that we will carry with us forever.
It became something even more special than we imagined, watching our loved ones fill the streets with vibrant smiles, warm wishes, and open hearts. What stays with us most is the feeling of being together, the kind of joy that only exists when so many people you love gather in one place.
We are endlessly grateful to our family, friends, and the incredible team of vendors whose care, talent, and generosity helped shape that weekend.
Just a few moments from a celebration we will never forget.

One year ago in Sayulita, surrounded by the people we love most, a weekend began that we will carry with us forever.
It became something even more special than we imagined, watching our loved ones fill the streets with vibrant smiles, warm wishes, and open hearts. What stays with us most is the feeling of being together, the kind of joy that only exists when so many people you love gather in one place.
We are endlessly grateful to our family, friends, and the incredible team of vendors whose care, talent, and generosity helped shape that weekend.

No resolutions, just a quiet reminder to carry on but not always calmly of course. Because what fun is there in that?
But I am setting an intention this year to prioritize myself more. I’ve actually been working on that for the last couple of years and it turns out that it is not that easy for a people pleaser like me.
To keep drinking that water, get in daily exercise & movement, maintain my sleep hygiene, to wear what what feels good, to stare less at the increasing grey hairs & to keep less track of the fine lines.
To worry less and to focus more on the present. Which frankly is going to be my life’s work at this rate.
So in the not so-famous (& at time slightly annoying] words of my middle kid : “it’s not that deep.”
I’m hoping to remind myself that more so I can in fact carry on a little more calmly.
