We are pleased to announce Bow Arts has successfully been awarded Active Member status for 2025-26 with @galleryclimatecoalition!
Active Membership is not a certification of sustainability nor a claim that we are doing things perfectly. We’re all doing our best to assess, report and reduce our impact, setting targets in line with science, taking any actions we can and working out other solutions as we go. We encourage our peers and colleagues to visit the @galleryclimatecoalition page or website to learn more about the initiative and explore their resources.

We don’t just run projects in primary and secondary schools - we also help schools, colleges and universities connect the dots between education and creative careers. 🖼️🖌️🎨
From lively creative careers fairs to hands-on workshops that give a true feel of life as an artist, we’re all about opening doors for young people.
We introduce students to professional creatives and their practice, helping them explore what their future in the arts could look like - there are so many possibilities! 🎮🎞️📸
Here’s what Creative Careers Fair participants had to say:
💬“So many options available. Real industry people to speak to who were honest.”
💬“I enjoyed the speaker – it gave me an insight into working in fashion design.”
💬“I learnt that every choice is a pathway to a new opportunity.”

We’re proud to be part of Backyard Biennial: East, a free, 8-week festival in collaboration with @whitechapelgallery and 40+ local partners across East London (15 July - 6 September 2026).
Join us for an exciting programme of exhibitions, performances, workshops and more, celebrating the histories, communities and creative practices that shape the East End.
We are collaborating with East London Art Prize shortlisted artists Laisul Hoque @laisulhoque, Kuda Mushangi @kuda.mushangi and Lydia Newman @ladedum for exciting events including exhibitions, workshops, performances and walking tours!
As part of the ‘East of the Aldgate Pump’ exhibition, Laisul will present ‘An Ode to All the Flavours’ (2024), an expanded storytelling and interactive installation inspired by his earliest memory of his father sharing his favourite childhood snack.
On Sat 25 & Sun 26 July, Lydia will host two participatory workshops 'Tangle/Untangle' (2026) in collaboration with Jae Gibbs @our_living_tree as space-holder, using sand-filled tights as a shared material to create collective entanglement and explore how bodies carry, share and negotiate inherited and socially learned pressures.
On Thurs 13 August, as part of Whitechapel Lates, Lydia will present ‘Sand Suit 4.0’ (2026), an embodied storytelling performance developed in dialogue with the workshops and her ongoing series ‘In the Wake of Ruin’.
On Sat 15 August, Kuda will lead a walking tour of the Whitechapel area to explore how art has been integrated and woven into the history and architecture of Whitechapel and East London. Key sites will include House of Annetta, Whitechapel Gallery and Arnold Circus.
These events are curated by Sandra Lam @lamwanyisandra in collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery team.
