メンテナンス兼ねてずっと気になっていたサスペンションをあれこれしました。
リヤはノーマルだとかなり硬く、いつも走らせる度に変えよう変えようと思いつつはや何年。
ついでにフロントもいじってみようと思い、当店でも大人気パーツのRCチャンネル製バギーチャンプ用リヤショックを試しに入れてみました。ステーに穴を開けたり、付属スプリングが硬すぎるなど色々と調整は必要でしたがかなりしなやかになりました。ちなみにフロントスプリングはCC02オプションのソフトをカットして装着。
スプリングも蛍光イエローで塗装してます。

While doing some maintenance, I finally decided to work on the suspension setup that had been bothering me for years.
The rear suspension was always way too stiff in stock form, and every time I drove it I kept telling myself I’d change it someday… well, that “someday” took a few years.
At the same time, I wanted to experiment with the front as well, so I installed the hugely popular RC Channel rear shocks for the Buggy Champ. It required quite a bit of tweaking — drilling new holes in the mounts, changing things around because the included springs were too stiff, etc. — but the suspension is now much smoother and more compliant.
For the front springs, I used the soft optional springs from the CC-02, cut down to fit.
And of course, the springs are painted fluorescent yellow too.

インドネシア最終日、早朝にバンドンを出てジャカルタへ移動。前からずっと行ってみたいと思っていたサーキット @kebutracing へ。
独特の赤い土と、ハイスピードバンクが特徴的で、コース上にクルマを置くだけでもやたらとカッコ良くみえてしまうサーキットです。
突然の訪問にオーナーも快く歓迎してくれて、ホーネットevoとフロッグを堪能。そしてここでは地元のクラブRCVA @rcvintageaction が定期レースを開催していて、ジャカルタのビンテージシーンを大いに盛り上げています。
今度はレースに参加してみたい！

On my final day in Indonesia, I left Bandung early in the morning and headed to Jakarta to visit @kebutracing, a circuit I’d always wanted to check out.
With its distinctive red dirt and high speed banked corners, it’s the kind of track where even just placing a car on the surface makes it look incredibly cool.
Despite my sudden visit, the owner warmly welcomed me, and I got to fully enjoy running the Hornet EVO and the Frog. The local club RCVA @rcvintageaction also hosts regular races here, playing a big role in energizing Jakarta’s vintage RC scene.
Next time, I’d love to join a race!
