In the local Indonesian skateboarding scene, where most people only have access to a home camcorder, the variety of skateboarding videos produced can be seen not only as a regeneration of the local skateboarders but also as a collectively managed archive of urban activities that preserves the subculture’s legacy.

In the early 2000s, Bandung became an influential hub of urban culture. Within the skateboarding scene alone, between 2000 and 2010, up to ten skate videos were produced.
