Very excited to share this short documentary filmed at Daimon Brewery (大門酒造), a saké brewery founded in 1826 in a small town at the foot of Osaka’s Ikoma mountains, Japan. 🇯🇵

This was a personal project, shot in the depths of winter with no shot list, no lights, no translator, and just one freezing day on site. The brewery team were deep in saké production, carefully managing temperature, timing, and tradition, while we ran alongside them, capturing what we could. It was raw, unscripted, and completely observational. 🎥

The result is a quiet portrait of the process, rhythm, and tradition of saké making in Japan – with narration by Yasutaka Daimon. 🍶
