This light sculpture is a symbol of the role of women in the arts: persistent, powerful, yet often overlooked. It does not shout – it shines. Its light permeates the space, transforming it and giving it a new atmosphere without imposing itself. In the same way, women have shaped the art world for centuries – often in the background, often without the noise of recognition, yet always with profound impact. The reduced form of the sculpture represents clarity and self-evidence. It does not need to prove anything; its presence alone is a statement. It is a luminous manifesto: women in the arts do not need to be louder to be seen. We are here – and our light can no longer be overlooked.

Billi Thanner’s luminous sculpture constructs a minimalist presence, entrusted to the discreet power of light.
The neon flows through space without imposing itself, altering perception and establishing a direct relationship with its environment.

The reduced and immediate form focuses on a clear gesture, requiring no amplification.
Without emphasis, the light makes an already existing presence visible, bringing it to the forefront.

The work reflects on the role of women in art as a continuous and often unrecognized force — capable of profound impact while remaining at the margins of dominant visibility.

In Vertikale Frequenz wird die Linie in modulare Lichteinheiten überführt. Mehrere vertikal ausgerichtete Lichtkörper bilden ein serielles Feld, das Rhythmus, Puls und Intensität erzeugt.

Jedes Modul fungiert als eigenständiger Impuls und zugleich als Teil einer übergeordneten Struktur. Durch Wiederholung und minimale Variation entsteht ein energetisches Raster, das den Raum nicht füllt, sondern strukturiert.

Die vertikale Ausrichtung verdichtet Bewegung zur Aufrichtung. Licht wird hier zur messbaren Präsenz – als Frequenz, die zwischen Stabilität und Schwingung oszilliert.

Vertikale Frequenz versteht Skulptur als System: als Konstellation von Licht, Architektur und Wahrnehmung, die sich mit jeder Position des Betrachters neu organisiert.#timelines #konkretekunst #contemporaryart #artinstallation #minimalart
