Upcoming Sunday 3/05 we’re happy to host @walter.laureti at @vitesse.lab & @berns.coffee for an extensive dj-set. He’s passing through Belgium on tour and we caught him just in time for him to share a taste of his music with us in Brussels.

Walter Laureti is a music producer whose background in electronic music was shaped
between Italy and Norway. His artistic research moves between tradition and
contemporaneity, weaving together sounds from Southern Italy with tools and techniques
from electronic music—ranging from live sampling and 3D audio to compositions for visual
media.
His work stands out for its cross-disciplinary and immersive approach: archaic melodies and
modal structures merge with electronic textures. Deeply inspired by Mediterranean traditions
and the musical heritage of Southern Italy, he crafts an evocative and transformative sound,
capable of engaging with a wide range of artistic contexts.

Hi, hello, long time no see — the admin lost her phone and got the flu and then time went into the void 😵‍💫 Apologies for the lack of caffeine in the neighborhood but meanwhile come see the sound installation by @theground.online at @vitesse.lab starting next Monday! Coffee will be back in operation from 2/2!

Our endeavour that sprouted in late spring has so far been nursed and nourished by so many and we surely think that it has taken some substantial form by now. And it would not have been possible without any of the people involved.

In all honesty, it’s been of course fun but also very scary. I personally wanted to create a space where people can just drop by for a chat, or to read or to write in a slightly more social setting than at home, have a meeting if their offices are too busy, or simply to get their daily caffeine kicks. Coffee, or the act of frequenting a coffee bar has always been a very personal ritual for me that structures my day. Coffee has been there as a crucial part of what lights up each moment along with many other things, many people, conversations, books… That’s to say, I want Berns Coffee to serve as a background in which many somewhat memorable activities for YOU happen. I want to make a small corner where the busy life in the city can stop for a second. And of course we make every single coffee we serve with all the care, and it’s always a pleasure to be able to share excitement about coffee. And in trying to actualize all this, every warm encouragement I got along the way helped me a crazy amount to keep on believing in such abstract ideals and ideas I’ve had around this project. So thank you from the deepest place, for believing in this little bar even when I almost couldn’t.

Come say hello before the end of the year, we are open on the 30th & the 31st, from 10-15h. And I hope you’ll be there witnessing the growth of the bar in 2026 with us. ❤️☕️

One month flew by in a blink of a moment, and we cannot be happy enough for all the love and warmth shared in the space :’) A big thank-you to all who partook in the sharing of the time with us!
