Two adventurous fly-fishing musicians journey through California's rivers and mountains, uncovering stories of migration, ecology, and culture — revealing how every angler can become an advocate for the waterways they love.

Filmmaker Isabela Zawistowska brings us this beautiful short documentary that serves as the pilot episode of a three-part mini-series. The film traces the Owens River's path, from nourishing Owens Lake through decades of diversion to today's restoration efforts.

As a cinematographer, director, and documentary filmmaker, Isabela's work explores the deep connection between people, place, and the natural world. This film shows us that protecting the places we love starts with understanding their stories, and that every one of us has a role to play.

This Saturday, April 11, in Santa Monica, @vivaparavion celebrates surf artist Falu Carolei at Santa Monica’s esteemed Adler/Smith Gallery. This is FALU CAROLEI’S FIRST SHOW IN THE US!
All the way from Argentina!
Falu is an independent artist, illustrator, and art director based in Buenos Aires, renowned for his work heavily influenced by skate, surf, rock, and graffiti subcultures. His vibrant, often psychedelic, and detailed artwork is featured on skateboard decks, apparel, large scale murals, and publications for brands like RVCA, Santa Cruz Skateboards, Vans Argentina and Madrid Skateboards for the short list.
The @madridskateboards crew will also be joining us for a limited edition release of a Madrid x Falu collab skateboard.
We’ll have a couple custom surfboards via @erssurf x @alohaglassing

Santa Monica‘s Adler \ Smith Gallery held yet another wonderful event this weekend focusing on Ed Colver’s photography and iconic art of Ric Clayton in collaboration with Born & Raised. Of course, no such event would be complete without music. Some cat named Tony Alva was found spinning tunes. I forgot to thank him for the fractured wrists and twisted ankles of my youth. Apologies to the other DJ whose name I did not catch. Had a bit of fun texting Derek O’Brien to let him know that a legendary Social Distortion photograph was on display. Par Avion is proud to have had Derek help us with both great drumming and great production skills. As for the gallery, it’s located in the former location of Evett’s Model shop. Like any smart gallery, they kept the old sign for the win.
