«The Norwegian trio Bento Box is made up of promising young musicians who are already more or less established. It’s not too late to discover them, here with this new project, improvised around their own compositions and featuring the double bass of Mats Eilertsen and the voice of Sissel Vera Pettersen on some tracks. Tuva Halse’s violin has a very specific, colorful, bittersweet sound that adds a special relief to the whole. Benjamín Gísli Einarsson on piano and Øyvind Leite on drums are careful not to spoil this primary color, but to support and enhance it. A big thank you to everyone who joined us at Victoria! We had a truly special evening performing our new album alongside the incredible Mats Eilertsen and Sissel Vera Pettersen. The entire concert was filmed by @sigurdytrearne and will be available for viewing soon!
This week, we’re excited to play two concerts in Iceland! First up is Reykjavík at Jazz í Djúpinu (@icelandjazz). We hope to see some familiar faces there! 🧝🏻♀️

The album’s songs revolve around the feeling of losing direction or meaning. Changes in life can cause you to suddenly find yourself in a place you don’t recognize. Nevertheless, the music is close and present - exploratory in each other’s musicality. The album features the renowned musicians Mats Eilertsen and Sissel Vera Pettersen.
“With the second album, we wanted to expand the trio format that we explored in the debut “Boxed”. Both Sissel and Mats are musicians that we have been inspired by for a long time, and we were really excited when they agreed to join us on some of the songs on the album.”

This tune composed by @bennigisli was originally an improvised melody, now arranged for violin and piano. In this video filmed by @alex.ventling at the Icelandic embassy in Oslo also featuring drums.
